Sapphires Visit Parliament

April 6, 2009

Fashion and politics don’t usually go together, but for Neely and Ian from Sapphires it certainly did last week.  The guys from Sapphires recently paid a visit to the Houses of Parliament to meet with David Lammy, the Minister of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills.

The reason for the visit was due to Sapphires’ being featured in a new government report focusing on university graduates and their future after graduation.  The government are very keen to promote graduates going into the creative industries, so this was a perfect opportunity for them to speak to two people who’ve been there and done that!  They were particularly interested in finding out how Sapphires have used the skills learnt at university to turn a small home business into a national company in 3 years.

The day was a great success and Neely and Ian were able to offer the ministers and all those in attendance something to think about for the future.  Of course for them it was an excuse to get dressed up and have a little snoop around one of the most famous buildings in Britain.  Next stop… Downing Street!!!
